Death by Chocolate
CRUST INGREDIENTS:
1 cup pecans, finely ground
4 tbsp. sweet butter
1 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
PREPARATION:
Soften the butter to room temperature. Combine all of the above ingredients together. You must use your hands to mix them together very well by mashing and rubbing together the ingredients. Once you have mixed them well, spread the mixture over the top and walls of a 9-inch spring form pan. Mash and spread all the way to the top.
FILLING INGREDIENTS:
20 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 lb. box powdered sugar
1/2 lb. sweet butter (not margarine)
6 extra large whole eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
PREPARATION:
Melt chocolate in microwave, stirring occasionally. Add vanilla and mix.
Once the chocolate has melted to a creamy consistency (watch for lumps), mix it in with the butter and sugar. Once this is mixed (you have to scrape the bottom of the mixer to be sure that all is well mixed). Begin to add the eggs one at a time. Just as you see one begin to blend in, add another until all are blended in. Pour the mixture into the form pan with the crust. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool for 6 hours.
